Organization
Daily Task Sheets
Don't procasanate

I write Notes and reminders on sticky pads which I place on bathroom, mirrors, doors, and such.

I use organization tools that suit the way that I think. You can go out and buy a day timer however, if it doesn’t suit the way that you think it’s useless.

focus, focus, focus and focus on tasks. Assign deadlines to tasks, complete them. If you don't note why

Go for walks, take in nature, take time to spend time with my animals. Stimulation can come from many different ways.

One thing I will add to this. You may or may not hear this from others.

Many state they can multitask. Yes it is a Times possible.

Let me put another way. A friend, family, member, or maybe you, are in the hospital about to undergo a complex procedure by a surgeon.

The surgeon tells you you’re in good hands I can multitask. Ask yourself would you want that surgeon to 100% concentrate on you or multitask spending time doing something else while performing your surgery. ?

You got this, apply everyday

Kathleen’s Answer

When I wasn't excepted in the nursing program I was bummed out about it. But I reminded myself that it only had a few spots open. I tried not to take it personally. I retook a class that I had didn't do very well in. It improved my overall GPA and chances to get into the program. The program also has other classes that are required to graduate. I took them this way I would still be in school and continue my studies. I went to extra help that was available tried to see where I was weak and concentrate on that area. I also took cpr from the local fire department that I knew would be great for my nursing job it's something that you can use even if you are not in the program.

Sophie’s Answer

I think it's really important to remember that you can't control everything and external events and circumstances will affect what you're doing and how you feel. It's OK to reflect and prioritize and if needed make "course corrections" i.e. make changes to your plans.
Being flexible and still progressing is a life skill and will help you to succeed in the long run. What's really important is to maintain that positive attitude and accept that any progress, however small the step, is still positive progress. Sometimes we take a different route from the original plan and sometimes we might decide we were heading for the wrong goal... to be able to accept all the things you experience as learning and no matter what's happened being able to see the value in that learning and experience is a good skill.
