How do you know if your being recruited and when should you be recruited to play division 1 athletics?
At what age do colleges start recruiting? Being an undersized guard what are some of the skills needed to make it to the division 1 level ? How do I put my self in the best position possible to get recruited?

Timing varies based on the division of the school and the sport. D1 schools have strict restrictions on when they can talk with you. My daughter just went through the process for field hockey - not sure what the timing is for football. Be sure to be reaching out to coaches via email at your target schools and sharing a highlight reel with them. Even if they don't respond, keep emailing them when you have something new to share (e.g. update to GPA, sports honors, etc). Also a good idea to talk with your highschool coach and have them reach out to your target colleges on your behalf. In terms of when to start reaching out, the earlier the better - my daughter started in 9th grade. Good luck!!

I am not, and have never been a college athlete.
I do know that recruiting is pretty much governed by the NCAA. I'd suggest you mouse around on their website (https://www.ncaa.org/) and see what they have to say. It's always better to get your information from a primary source when you can.
