William’s Answer

I choose construction because it has so many different aspects that I enjoy, but not limited to these categories. Each one of the things that I list will have its own individual circumstances about them are very simple and complexed to keep challenging me to pursue the art of construction. I really like to learn how many things come together to make a successful project. The question is a little vague because there are so many types of construction. The construction that I am involved in is in commercial roofing.

Customer Interactions, Estimating/Proposals, Sales, Operations, Plans/Specifications, Codes/Regulations, Scopes of Work, Technical Aspects, Organization of Information, Marketing, Drone, Digital, Project Management, Maintenance, Referrals, Details

Project Preparation - Materials, Hours, Expenses, Profits/Margins, Payment Terms, Pre-Job Meetings, Logistics, Organization of Material, Schedules, Equipment, Protection, Demolition
Safety - PPE, Equipment, Plans, Data, Qualifications/Certifications
Standard Operating Procedures - Clean Up, Policies, Warranties, Permits, Job Acceptance

Keeping in touch with Customer with communication thru different aspects of technology (Email, Phone, Reports)

The list kind of keeps going because the construction world is always expanding due to personal development and different customer expectations.

Amalya’s Answer

Every career has its advantages and disadvantages. If you are really interested in the field, it may be a good reason to follow that path.
It all depends on the construction type you are going to be involved in. Some construction jobs are related to engineering, the others not. In each case, consider carefully before making a decision since you will spend your time and energy on it over the years.
Wish you all the best.
