Michel’s Answer

Honestly and this isn’t to be mean, but activities before college will be good for getting you into a college. That being said these are important and you should be focusing on volunteering, leadership experiences. These will help you build confidence and give you a good insight into the social aspects of these fields. Once in college you need to continue with those kinds of experiences and move over to some others like shadowing physicians, researching, and volunteering in hospital like settings. There are a lot of different pathways but the most important ones involve doing things you like because schools will ask about these activities. If you love helping homeless populations work with that and work with these populations and during interviews these aspects of your application will shine. No one wants to hear in an interview that you volunteered with low income people because you had to.

Michelle’s Answer

Hello!

Great question! Generally I would recommend creating your college list based on your budget.

Once you narrow down to your top 5 say, then you would check out each institutions admissions requirements.

The common application is also a great place to start.

I wish you well!

Michelle recommends the following next steps:

Create college list.
Check admissions requirements for your top 5-10 institutions.
