Andrew’s Answer

From my early years, I found immense joy in serving my community, particularly those less fortunate. Chemistry, my favorite and strongest subject in school, fascinated me endlessly. I realized that pharmacy perfectly married my passion for service and my love for chemistry. I was confident that I could make a significant difference in my community through the medical field, while also earning a good income and setting a positive example. The most fulfilling aspect of my profession has been the privilege of encountering numerous exceptional pharmacists who have generously shared their knowledge and experience with me. They have made it their mission to guide me in becoming the best possible version of myself. Their influence has been invaluable, and I am deeply grateful.

Honestly, you have to have a love of helping others, to enjoy a career in medicine. If you are not comfortable interacting with others, you may have a difficult time adjusting to the demands that are currently placed on medical professionals.

James Constantine’s Answer

Hey there, Symone!

Medical assistance comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, ranging from a receptionist's role to a specialized assistant who aids in medical procedures. This could involve tasks like wound dressing or debridement of a diabetic ulcer, which require specific training.

My expertise lies in the field of nutrition. I often work with patients referred by Medical Doctors who are dealing with health issues like obesity, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, and hypertension. They seek advice on diets that can help manage these conditions.

A career in medical assistance is a popular choice for many, driven by a passion for healthcare and a desire to help others. It's a field where you can truly make a difference in people's lives, contributing to their overall well-being. Plus, the healthcare industry offers a level of job security and stability that's attractive to those looking for long-term career prospects.

One of the most fulfilling parts of being a medical assistant is the chance to directly support patients. You'll be involved in a variety of clinical tasks, from taking vital signs to administering medications and assisting with minor procedures. This hands-on role allows you to build strong relationships with patients and see the positive impact of your work on their health.

Working as a medical assistant also means being part of a larger healthcare team. You'll collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and efficient patient care. This team environment is a great place to learn from experienced professionals, expand your skills, and contribute to a collaborative healthcare setting.

Medical assistance also opens up opportunities for professional growth and advancement. With experience and further training, you can specialize in areas like phlebotomy or become an EKG technician. You might even decide to continue your education to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or a registered nurse (RN). The chance to continually learn and develop new skills can be incredibly rewarding if you're aiming for career progression.

In a nutshell, a career in medical assistance is often chosen by those who are passionate about healthcare and helping others. It offers stability, job security, direct patient interaction, teamwork, and opportunities for professional growth.
