Generally, this is not a salaried position. That is, you earn whatever you charge the customer, minus any fee you may pay the style shop owner to rent the chair. So, if you're popular and customers prefer you, you can charge a higher rate. But remember, if you are working as an individual, you also need to consider your business costs for your own health insurance and taxes. This can be a rewarding profession and I wish you well.
