Should a Marketing Manager be kind to their co workers who are against their ideas?

I am in 8th grade, and I play sports like baseball, and basketball.

Thank you comment icon Hi Adrian, can you please clarify this question? It sounds like you are asking how to take criticism from clients as a marketing manager, but please correct me if I am wrong! Gurpreet Lally, Admin

Anika’s Answer

Yes, a Marketing Manager should prioritize professionalism and respect towards coworkers, regardless of differing opinions. Kindness fosters a positive work environment, encourages collaboration, and builds trust among team members. By maintaining respectful communication and considering alternative viewpoints, the manager can cultivate a culture of openness and creativity, leading to more effective decision-making and successful outcomes.

Steve’s Answer

Absolutely, and this is not just in Marketing but in any profession or any facet of life. Kindness, respectfulness and honest listening is important every day and everywhere even if those who don't agree with you are not practicing it and it is not just for them but more so for you!

When you truly listen to people with differing opinions, your solutions and opinions become much fuller and better thought out. If you discuss them you with people that are genuinely looking to come up with a better answer you build your network and a pool of people you can discuss things and build better solutions with. If you are combative, withdrawn, intimidated or even angry your creative mind shuts down and you start becoming part of the problem or at best unproductive.

You have no control over other people but you do control yourself and your reaction to them.

Good Luck in all you do!
