Hi There.. Not being sure of the reason why you want to make money makes it a little challenging to answer this question. If you need to help your family with money for essentials, then that is an important reason for earning money while you are in school. Are you trying to save money for college or an important purchase, like a computer? Also good reasons to try to earn money while in school. Doing well is school should be your priority even if you do need to earn money for important reasons. If you plan to go to college or a trade school, your grades and extra-curricular activities will help you get into good schools and qualify you for scholarships as well. I don't recommend you sacrifice your future for short term pleasures.. if you have to get a job for important reasons, then please pick something that doesn't interfere with school or doing well on tests and your homework assignments. Your age will determine who can hire you as well.. perhaps doing some jobs for neighbors like baby sitting, dog sitting, yard work, etc. will allow you to make some extra money where you don't need to pay any taxes and you can more easily fit those jobs into your school schedule. Good luck!

Hello, so your in 12 grade there are many opportunities for you to make a little money while your in school. When I was 16 I worked in a restaurant, they are probably the easiest way to get into the workforce and its a easy job to learn that wouldn't interfere with your school work. You just wanna make sure you work for a place that is flexible with your schedule. There are other jobs to that can work easily with your schedule though to like babysitting or doing yard work as its stating to warm up there will definitely be opportunities. You could ask landscaping companies if they are taking part timers to help with summertime or start your own little side hustle. Also another big thing is dog sitting and Rover is an app that a lot of people use. You can advertise on there or just advertise by posting flyers or social media. People are always looking for dog sitters and dog walkers. I guess jobs would depend on what your willing to work with whether its the food business/customer service, whether you like kids, or maybe your an animal lover. There are definitely opportunities out there!

Dear Prieta,

A Guide to Earning Income as a 12th Grader in Online School

Generating income as a 12th grader in online school may seem daunting, but it's entirely feasible. Here are some practical strategies to earn money while juggling your studies:

1. Online Freelancing: This is one of the most adaptable methods to generate income while in school. You can provide services like graphic design, writing, managing social media, or tutoring on platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, or Freelancer. This gives you the freedom to set your own hours and select projects that match your skills and time availability.

2. Virtual Internships: Seek out virtual internships in areas that pique your interest. Numerous companies offer remote internships that can provide valuable work experience and a steady income. Websites like Internshala or LinkedIn can assist you in finding virtual internships ideal for high schoolers.

3. Online Tutoring: If you're particularly skilled in a certain subject, consider offering online tutoring services to other students. Platforms like Chegg Tutors, Tutor.com, or even social media can help you reach students in need of academic assistance.

4. Selling Products Online: Think about selling products online via platforms like Etsy (for handmade items), eBay (for a variety of goods), or Amazon (for books, crafts, etc.). This could be an excellent way to transform your hobbies or talents into a revenue stream.

5. Part-Time Remote Jobs: Some companies provide part-time remote job opportunities that may be suitable for high school students. Search for roles such as virtual assistants, content creators, customer service reps, or data entry jobs that allow you to work from home.

6. Paid Surveys and Market Research: You can also earn a bit of extra cash in your spare time by participating in paid surveys or online market research studies. Websites like Swagbucks, Survey Junkie, or Pinecone Research offer chances to earn money by voicing your opinions.

Always remember to put your studies first and make sure any job you undertake doesn't hinder your academic duties. It's crucial to strike a balance between earning money and concentrating on your education during this pivotal stage of your academic career.
