I would start with getting a job in a pharmacy and getting your pharmacy technician certification. You will need the prerequisites for pharmacy school before you can apply. I would look up some pharmacy schools and see what classes they are requiring. If you can pass organic chemistry, you will likely do well in pharmacy school, in my opinion.

I would start off looking to become a certified pharmacy technician to expose yourself to the profession and make sure it is a good fit for you.

Hi, Amy! Pharmacy is a great career choice. You might look for a Pharmacy that would take a volunteer in some capacity, or start with a Pharmacy Tech course. That would be a great lead in to understanding the career and be a good job while you're continuing your education toward becoming a pharmacist. There will be quite a bit of math and chemistry involved, so if you're good at those, it's likely to be a good fit for you. Best to you in your studies!

It's a good question for sure one must have completed a bachelor degree in pharmacy to be eligible for pharmacy internship.
The best experience for such internship would be to get attached to a drug manufacturing company so that to get the pharmacy industrial experience and also to get attached to County Referral Hospital or a State hospital so that you too can get the Clinical pharmacy experience.
I believe the two attachments will enable one to get the best from pharmacy internship

Tiffany’s Answer

If you are in high school or college, go straight to being a pharmacy technician. They pay is low but the experience invaluable to see firsthand what a typical pharmacy job is like. There are lots of different areas of pharmacy you can explore from there once you get your first tech job (retail, hospital, compounding, mail order).
