What is the smartest way to become a registered nurse and what certification's do I take in order, to not waste time.

Of all the nursing certifications, LPN or LVN programs are the quickest and most convenient options. Because training can be completed at a hospital, vocational technical school, community college and even online, LPN/LVN programs are ideal for students who work or have other obligations.

Karissa’s Answer

If you want to be a RN you must get a 4-year degree at a university. Some community colleges have this program but it still takes 4 years. If you do any other program you will waste time because your credits won't transfer when you do decide to become an RN. If you do a LPN or LVN program you will find out that the tasks you do on the job may be lower level. This may make you feel unsatisfied.

Nancie’s Answer

Pursue a BSN degree, regardless of the time it requires. It may be challenging to return to school later on, especially when juggling work and possibly marriage. The concept of speed is subjective when the end result is valuable.
