I agree, with some additional advice.
The best athletes tend to be generalists. Individuals, like Roger Federer, played a variety of sports and did a diversity of training activities.
Federer ran, he played basketball, soccer, volleyball and other sports to develop his skills.
When he eventually turned to tennis full time, his skills and overall fitness carried him to eventual success.

Hello,
Have a will you push yourself beyond becoming without becoming comfortable and strive for new limits and goals. Having a strong mentality plays a key role into developing new skills to add to what's already developed. Discipline is another important aspect of improving your development. You have to put in the work even when you don't want to at moments or see other relaxing. Continue to develop even in off season. Once the new season return you will be well prepared and more productive then prior seasons before.

Lift weights and workout. That is always the best way to get ahead of your peers, outwork them. If you can add weight and muscle and improve stamina in the gym, it allows your body to focus more on the skills of the game which you will be working naturally to improve at during practices and tryouts etc. I also think you should play as much as possible. So, join pick-up and town leagues etc during the offseason, or summer league teams or whatever so that you are playing more than just in the season of the sport.
