I'm confident that you'll find securing a role as a medical assistant a smoother path, which can then pave the way to an administrative position. In the current scenario, there's an overflow of fresh graduates, armed with an associate or bachelor's degree, vying for administrative roles with no prior experience. I strongly believe that hands-on experience can give you an edge over others.

Work hard in school. You should add any skills and strengths you have to your resume. While you are completing your program and doing any clinical type rotations, attempt to form bonds/friendships with people to assist you in finding a job. Best of luck!

Hello! I have counseled hundreds of students over the years. Your best chance of getting a job after you complete your trade school is to do the best job that you can while you are in school. Does your program have an internship program that requires you to complete required hours in your field of study. Most programs have these internships - although they may be called something different from program to program. These internships are valuable for several different reasons. The first reason is that they give you valuable real work, working experience while you are in school. The second, and perhaps the most important, reason is that these internships give you valuable job contacts. If you do well during your internship, it is not uncommon for you to be offered a job after you have completed school.

During the time that you are in school, work to network and make as many contacts as you can. You can use your network to help get a job when you complete your training.

Theresa recommends the following next steps:

Start forming your network
