How do you know if going to college to design video games is worth it?

I have attended college for 3 years, but left without graduating the full 4 years. I was looking into continuing my education in game design but there are no good schools in Wisconsin where I live. Is it worth the struggle I am having? #college #graphic-design #video-games #video #digital-art #game-art

Sean’s Answer

As a gamer it is really a matter of your passion. Digital arts design can be used in many aspects of the world we live in, just in case you don't find a career in the game industry, your talents can be used elsewhere.

Bill’s Answer

Hi Curtis,

Video game designing would be a great career. May I ask what your current line of study was? May be a good idea to try to finish out to at least get a Bachelor's degree on your resume and then pursue game design as a graduate degree/area of study.
I did a quick search and there does appear to be online options you can pursue from home. Also, perhaps consider contacting or going to the websites of the firms that produce your favorite games and check out their career section. I found a few interesting links below. Best of luck to you Curtis!
