Context: My heart is for missions. I plan on being affiliated with the Assemblies of God with respective credentials, in order to be an active missionary to (hopefully) Sweden. However, while I will possess the title "missionary", my goal is to go as a councilor to adolescents who have struggled with eating disorders, broken families, low self esteem, suicidal attempts, etc. I believe your teenage years are a crucial platform for shaping the direction of your future, and I want teens to know they are loved and have a purpose. I plan on majoring in Psychology and minoring in Art.
College: My ideal college would be Evangel University. However, in order to cut down on debt, I may do general education classes at a cheaper local college, possibly Ivy Tech, University of Southern Indiana, or Indiana State University, and then transfer to Evangel. Evangel is my top choice because out of all of my youth leaders, 4 of them have graduated from there. And of those 4, 3 studied psychology. Therefore, I know I about the psychology program and the type of education to expect. They also have the best fine arts program throughout the Assemblies of God colleges.
Other Education: In order to be a credentialed minister, I would need to complete an online course to obtain my licences through the Assemblies of God.
Activities: Currently a part of NAHS, Art club, Spanish club, Best Buddies, Teen Bible Quiz, Worship Team, Student Leadership at my youth group, and active involvement in Children's Ministry. Formerly involved in ASL club, Student council. I would glady join an art club, volunteer my time, be involved in a youth ministry and go on missions trips.
Job Experience: I've never had a job, But I have been involved in ministry since I was in 6th grade. Someday, I hope to be able to intern under a missionary over seas.
Soft Skills: I am a people person. I can usually read people pretty well. Also good with dogs and kids. I naturally assume the role of leadership. People already tend to turn to me for advice and comfort.
Hard Skills: I am an extraordinary artist/ photographer with merit scholarships for both of those things. I can speak and comprehend Spanish. Also pretty great at Psychology. (Got a 5 on my AP test)
