why do jobs decline people with little to no work experience

9 times out of 10 jobs will deny people with little to no work experience I always found this confusing especially in places with "Urgent help t hiring" signs

This often calls for the candidate to have the required hard, technical skills and experience so the company does not have to delay their start time because of training.

To add to Morris' answer, I agree that these "Urgent help wanted" signs serve as a red flag and should be avoided. The high urgency of the posting indicates that the company may not be willing to train you, invest in your future, or set realistic performance expectations. They are simply looking for someone to do the job and to do it their way, whether it benefits you or not. It can stifle creativity, innovation, and job motivation.

You want to find an organization that you know will provide the best for you as their employee. A good posting will have most, if not all, their benefits listed out for you, express excitement for the organization's mission, and provide a detailed job description that sets clear expectations for applicants applying.

This type of posting, unlike an urgent posting, clearly communicates the role's expectations and benefits provided to you. This is a good sign because it shows that the organization put time, care, and effort into this and desires a candidate who meets their excitement for the organization's mission, meets the role expectations, and has ideas to bring to the table.

Because the employers assume that no experience equals no aptitude! A very wrong assumption! What if you tell them that you are in the top 1% of people intellectually? They may find it difficult to accept but what if you were accepted join Mensa?

This has been a struggle for many people. I desperately wanted a job where I could train people, but kept getting told I did not have the experience.

My solution was to volunteer in the local community. Not only did it help me network and meet other people, but it also allowed me to add those skills to my résumé and move into jobs that I enjoyed.

I'm just echoing what was said before: Urgent Help: We want someone with experience who can jump in with very little training and save the day.
Those aren't jobs you want anyway. Find a company that at least hosts mini job fairs or networking events and build relationships by finding out what problems they are trying to solve. Urgent hiring signs aren't a good sign for folks starting their careers.

It is a good question for everyone.
As a volunteer at CareerVillage, we need to address this issue particularly.
Due to the fact that, we all have experienced in this situation, and I wholeheartedly believe that everyone should share their prior job application and interview experiences to all people around the world.
Job hunting is a scary thing that everyone have been challenged for a long time.
After being graduated from the school/college/university, we all feel empty and desperately seek help from professionals who may assist us for our further steps.
When it comes to addressing this issue, if you have minor or no volunteering and/or internship experience(s), that will be a major concern for us and others.
We have to know our abilities and how to collaborate with others.
They have to know our employability skills and our soft and hard skills and emotional intelligence skills in order to pass interviews.
We all should know each other, and help each other, so that we start to engage and help with all people who wants to become a job position that waited for so long.
In order to have a strong profile, we all should have a volunteering experience(s) firstly.
Yet if we want to work in an internship, then good luck to all.
Because, most internship companies may challenge all applicants in order to be accepted.
After volunteering and/or internship experience(s), we all did gain more employability skills.
This allows you to be qualified and accepted by the company easily.
However, if you were graduated from the prestigious university or a college and learned your passion, yet you were not accepted by the company or major companies that we all want to be qualified, then we should have a career plan for our future.
If you love creativity, you can be an intern for Digital Marketing, or Literary Arts, or Media Arts.
If you enjoyed learning medicine or science, you must look at the job requirements carefully.
We all need to track our progress, test ourselves, and develop our employability skills.

Hey Lima,

I totally get why you're confused. It’s frustrating when you see "Urgent help wanted" signs, but they still won’t hire people with little experience. A big reason for that is companies don’t want to spend too much time and money training someone who’s never worked before. They also want to make sure whoever they hire is going to stick around for a while, not just leave after a few weeks. Even with urgent jobs, there’s often a lot of competition, and sometimes people with more experience get the spot. But honestly, the best thing you can do is keep applying, look for any chance to get experience even volunteering and show that you're willing to learn. You’ll get there!
