Hey Derrick!
I’ve used a few DAWs, and it really depends on what you’re into. For me, Logic Pro is my go-to. It’s got everything you need tons of instruments, loops, and tools for mixing and mastering and it’s easy to learn if you’re already in the Apple world.
FL Studio is awesome too, especially if you’re into making beats. It’s super beginner-friendly, and the way you can play around with loops and arrange tracks is so straightforward.
BandLab is great for collaborations. It’s free and cloud-based, so you can work on tracks from your phone or computer, which is super convenient.
Honestly, all of them are solid choices it just depends on what vibe you’re going for. What kind of music are you making? Let’s compare notes!

The path to connecting with producers can be quite tiresome especially when you don't know that many people pursuing music. BandLab does have a feature where you cab connect with artists and allow them to view and support your work ($$$). However, it is a paid feature. Luckily for you, I discovered a way around that issue. BandLab makes it easy to collaborate with many individuals. In my experience, finding a producer is super simple.
On Bandlab, log in and locate the "Feed" dropdown in the left corner of the page. If you are currently following some artists, you have the option to view their work and see their social profiles and send a message.
If that is not possible, at the top of the screen, click the search bar and type in a genre. For example, if you are a R&B artist, go ahead and type ["R&B"] then click enter.
Once the new page loads, there will be a new side bar on the left of your screen where you can view options such as "Top" "Bands" "tags" and "albums." Click on the different options to view selections and artists.
4. Repeat Step 1, And locate the artist name, then social media handle. Have fun connecting!

Hey Derrick, I've used both I have more experience using FL making trap/hip-hop beats and full songs. I do rap but don't consider myself great. I have used band lab but find making beats and recording in FL is more stream line for me and my set up. The interface is more complicated on fl if you don't understand but it gives you access to a lot more plug ins and sound design tools you may not get with band lab, if band lab does have a alternative I've found it may not be as good. I'm happy to answer any questions About beat making, recording, music, or just anything that's u have questions abt. I'll see if I can leave my music links.
