Work is great! Humans are biologically meant to do so. These days companies can overwork people and even if they don’t and you have an amazing workplace (good coworkers, hours, pay, etc) ensuring you have a life outside of the workplace is import for not only mental/emotional health but also if you ever step away from the job good or bad, you have to have something else in life that is just as if not more important or else you may end up reminiscing and plateauing in your career due to one good workplace

A very good question and thank you for bringing it up - it is a very important topic!
A healthy work-life balance is crucial for every individual and it is important to find your way of creating it. I can share some personal practices that helped me create a work-life balance that suits my needs. Of course this is an individual process, so everyone can experience it differently.
- I am trying to prioritize my workload in order to make sure that I can complete my tasks within my working hours.
- In the weekends I leave my business laptop turned off and I leave it in my rucksack, so it it out of my sight.
- I do not use Slack on my mobile phone outside of my working hours.
- I am trying to engage in various hobbies and activities in order not to think about work. Like practicing a sport, taking a long walk in my city, visiting museums and art galleries.
- I am trying to separate my work contacts from my personal contacts.
P.S. I am a European that was born and raised in a European country, so I would say that generally for many European people it is kind of a cultural thing to separate their work from life. It kind of comes naturally as a part of our culture in a way.
