Agree with previous answer - a good nursing program will work with you to make sure there is a balance between the two. My son is a nurse, and my daughter is a graduating senior in a nursing program. It's a lot of work, but it is definitely doable. My daughter was able to juggle classes, clinicals, and D1 softball because the school was willing to work with the students. Make sure you spend time speaking with professors and admissions persons from the schools you are considering to get a feel for how they handle things. And trust your instinct - you'll know when you've found the fit for you. Good luck!

Colleges do a great job of making sure you have a good balance between your courses and clinicals. I will say that doing clinicals along with your other courses gives students a realistic glimpse of their professional lives as well. Nursing schools and their advisors make sure students are equipped to handle the course load and the required clinicals.
