Hi Rahnel! I think this is a great question. I think having a successful profession requires much more than education. While many career paths will require you to have some form of degree related to the field of interest, that is merely the foundation to building a long term positive career. I think having a strong work ethic is a fantastic trait that will propel you forward as you seed to advance in your area. Being willing to be a team player is also very important. Be willing to share tasks with your teammates and be willing to step up to the plate when your manager is requesting support. Be able to collaborate with others to get projects done more effectively and efficiently. I think it is great you are thinking about not only the educational piece of a career but the traits themselves. Hope this answer helps and I wish you all the best!

Hello Rahnel,

In order to get the right skills for the right job, you have to know what you want to do. Since you're still young, this may change over time. I see that you like being hands on and working hard which is really great. If you can, try to get a part time job, maybe working in retail, or at a restaurant, or at an office. These types of jobs will help you to develop your communication, organization, and people skills. You will always use these skills, no matter what you end up doing in life. These types of jobs will also help you to get a better job in the future, since you would be starting your work experiences early. If you're not able to get a part time job at this time, you can do some volunteer work within your community. Many organizations have a lot of opportunities for you to work with others in your community to help make things better or to help work at an event. The best way to find out more information about part time jobs or volunteer work is to go to the library or go to your local community center to use their computers or other sources to find a job or sign up for volunteer work. The volunteer work will also help you develop the skills that you need for a great career. Being humble, respectful, honest, having integrity, considerate, focused, driven, etc are all key aspects to having a successful career. Don't ever forget that. I hope my answer helped you in some way. Take care.

Nikita
