Take classes that help you learn logical thinking and reasoning skills. Also, take classes that will assist you in developing solid writing and communication skills. I am an OT and both these skills will take you far. Never underestimate the simple solid skills of reasoning and communication. They will take you far no matter what you want to do. Find some OTRs that work near you. The field is diverse! Talk with both new and seasoned therapists to find out what they wish they would have known before they went to OT school. Best of luck. We need OTs, it's a high demand field with lots of openings to fill.

It varies based on the program, generally you'll need to take prerequisites that include anatomy, biology, psychology, medical terminology, statistics and art, but each school will vary. Here's a great summary of pre-requisite courses and miscellaneous suggestions by BYU.
