Hi Nou, firstly that's great you are considering becoming an NP once you finish your undergraduate program. Honestly more programs are pushing a DNP with their NP programs, however, there are still some programs that you can pursue an NP program with a MSN. Depending on the school they do have some programs that are BSN to DNP programs. The grad program I am in has that as an option. So to answer your question it depends on the school, but for a lot of NPs who have been practicing for some time including some of my own personal health care providers who are NPs they have masters and have not gone back to get their DNP. While I'm sure nursing professional orgs would like to shift to a DNP for nurse practitioners I don't see this full shift happening anytime soon, and I highly doubt current NPs who have licensure in good standing will be forced to return to school.

Nou, many universities have a BSN to MSN degrees. Check with program requirements for a university like West Coast University (one of many) which offer a M of NP degree. ( I don't work in the nursing field but, I understand you'll need to have a state nursing license for some degree levels)
typically you'll need a Masters before you can get enrolled in a Doctoral program. I'd also look into a Masters of Physicians Asst. - similar to NP but they work directly under supervision of a DR. & many HMO's hire PA's over NP's depends on direction you want to go. good luck
