Landing an internship as a high school student takes some initiative but is very doable and can help jumpstart your learning & development well before many others consider it. Start by figuring out what your interests are - what are you curious about from both an industry and function standpoint. This helps you focus your search. Reach out to family, friends, teachers (they may know of opportunities), local businesses.... communicate what you're looking for or are interested in and ask them to keep you in mind if they hear of any opportunity. You can also use online platforms like LinkedIn, Google "high school internship [your city] [your interest]" and see what pops up. Some companies also offer more structured programs and depending on your field or area of interest this could be a great place to get exposure. You'll likely need to put together a brief resume and get creative with your experience and skills - school projects, volunteer work, skills with certain computer programs... this early on it all counts and matters! Not every experience might be paid or glamorous but be open to the opportunities that will help you build your skills and develop connections. You've got this!!
