How should I find resources and opportunities as a college student going into the accounting, specifically in the tax practice, and from a underserved background?

Career Services: Reach out for help with your accounting resume, practice interviews, and finding internships. A mock interview helped me land a job with Deloitte.
Advisors or Professors: They often know about tax internships and recruiting schedules. I got a job at my accounting professor's small firm doing personal income taxes.
On-Campus Events: Go to accounting firm presentations, tax panels, and diversity recruiting events.

Education wise you can learn using the Youtube or using other short courses that are available in education platforms like Coursera, Udemy etc. For practical exposure you can move to a city and join a firm as an intern where you can learn a lot of things

Also, connect with your university's career services department; they can help you with your resume, practice interviews, and elevator pitches. Joining accounting clubs is another great step.
