What do I need to know before joining the United States Marine Corps as a Military POLICE OFFICER?

I am 18 years old, and I plan to join the United States Marines after taking the ASVAB in September. What advice do you have for me before I join in late September or early October?

Kimberly’s Answer

To get the best insights about the military, talk to people who are currently serving or have served. They can provide honest and accurate information about what to expect. Recruiters can also help, but they might not always give the full picture. If you live near a military base, consider visiting the area. You can't go inside, but you can talk to the military police at the gates. They are often willing to share their experiences. You can also meet military personnel at local hangouts and start a conversation.

Begin preparing physically by jogging and making fitness a daily habit. There's no need to practice shooting; the military will train you. Good luck!

Kimberly recommends the following next steps:

Go to a military base
Talk to former or current military
