How can I end up a famous singing?

it's my dream but idk how to start can someone help

Thank you comment icon I am so glad you asked this, I have been wanting to know the answer to this for a while. I will say, practice as much as you can. I have my own strong voice, but you'll need yours. I've heard from a lot of people that the singing industry is rough. The fact that you're in New York can help you. Also, go ahead and start learning music theory. Also it'd be a good idea to learn as much as you can about controlling vibrato, emotional display, tone, pitch, and dynamics. These will help you become a great singer. If you sign up to audition for any gigs, let them know about any music related awards you have. Hope this helps! Nevaeh
Thank you comment icon Hi Tiana, With discipline, you can achieve anything. Look for celebrities who started small, like singing on the streets or performing in theaters, and choose one you admire. Take your goals step by step. I recommend reading "The Woman in Me" by Britney Spears. In the first chapters, she shares how she and her mom never gave up. Sometimes, it's about focusing on different areas within the industry. Keep going! Salvador Hernandez Sanchez

I love that you’re dreaming big about singing! I was the lead singer of a semi-professional band for over a decade, touring North America and playing hundreds of shows, so here’s what I’ve learned:

- Sing as much as you can. Practice every chance you get, along with the radio, at karaoke, or just around the house. The more you sing, the stronger your voice and confidence will become. Karaoke is always a great option as there will be an audience!
- If it’s possible, take lessons. A vocal coach can teach you how to project safely, warm up your voice, and build good habits that will keep your voice healthy for years.
- Find your people. Join a choir, band, or local singing group, or start your own! Performing with others is not only fun but it's one of the best ways to grow.
- Be your own advocate. No one else will chase your dream for you, so keep putting yourself out there and saying “yes” to opportunities. Network with local musicians, reach out venues to ask if you can put on a show, message a local artist you admire and ask if you can be an opening act for them, etc
- When the time is right, build a simple media kit. This can include professional or even phone-quality pictures, videos of you singing, a short bio, links to your social media, and any press or mentions you’ve had. It helps people take you seriously and gives you something to share when opportunities come up.

It takes courage to go after a dream like this, but every singer starts where you are right now, with a love of music and a willingness to try. Keep going, stay kind to yourself when it feels tough, and trust that each step you take brings you closer.

Hello Tiana,

It is good that you have a dream of becoming a famous singer. There are many different things that I would suggest which include continuous practice, take singing lessons, learn how to play an instrument or learn how to songwrite, upload videos of you singing, gain experience and network with other singers. There are many different things that you can do and it will take time to become a famous singer but I know that you can do it. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your question. I am glad to know that you like singing.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Attend singing courses and learn different singing techniques online.
2. Practice more. Practice makes perfect. Consider to join the choir in school. Seek the music teacher for guidance and advice.
3. Join singing contest
4. Record your singing video and put it streaming platform or do some live. Review the comments.
5. Explore the entry criteria of performing academic. Work hard to meet the entry criteria
6. Send your demo to music corporations
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Hello, Tiana !

How to "start" depends on how old you are and you do just happen to be in the right city for a singing career. Fame is not planned for, rather just a thought, so for now, forget about the attention fulfilling aspiration of fame and ask yourself how serious you may be about making singing your life. Your career will go well if you forget about getting fame and fortune. And if you do become well known, that will be a good thing but some personal sacrifice goes along with it.

The reason that you may not know how to start is because you may not be doing anything right now connected with music or singing. You didn't mention if you are in high school or what grade you are in, but I will advise you thinking you are in high school.

You can't really plan your singing career because it takes many turns and once you become active you will meet many people who will be contacts and that can mean working on various projects at various venues. You will need serious training, education and knowledge of the business. My usual advice for students that do not know the industry is to start out in high school singing in any show that your school does. Join a choir and take a singing class if they offer one. The next step would be to enroll in college as a Music Major.

It is during college that you will be around other singers and musicians every day and that's what you really need in your path if you are serious about a singing career and want people to take you seriously as a professional. In college, you will get experience and do projects that will help you with a resume and a video portfolio of you singing. You will learn the proper technique for singing, stage presence and gain the ability to sing a variety of genres which will help you get work later on or even during your college stay. I would recommend doing a four year path for a Bachelors Degree in Music as this will open doors for you in different ways.

Performers need to be available for auditions, rehearsals and performances 24/7, so my advice is to wait until you graduate college to really start auditioning for paid work. You'll have a lot more life experience then, too which you will need for this business. Although you may get gigs while being a college student, these will come based on your contacts and may be compatible with your college schedule. In this business, don't push it - take it a step at a time and finish school. Many gigs can be out of town or late into the evening, so it's crucial to not let any work you get as a student interfere with your school schedule.

If you are already a trained singer, you can look into the New York City Children’s Chorus because they sometimes appear on television and also have performed at Carnegie Hall and on Broadway. Go for it ! Also look into The Young People’s Chorus of New York City. Also check out Voice Academy NYC for lessons for teens via Zoom, New York Jazz Workshop (provides virtual workshops), NYC Vocal Studio offers group classes and pop choirs, providing a creative environment for singers of all levels, including teens, to develop their skills and perform. This is how you start your training and experience for a future career as a singer !

Keep in mind that being flexible in life, feeling comfortable with the flow of things is very important, not only for your career but for life in general. It's easy to make a list of everything we want in life, the exact way we want things to go, but if you are open minded, approach things without expectation, things tend to work out satisfactorily. There is a reason why many young people turn to performance ideas to become famous or rich and it usually has to do with some other aspect in life that is not being met. Really think about why you want to be a singer, what your real motivation is because those who want to use it for unmet needs are usually able to be seen that way and may miss out on some good opportunities. It is a business like any other and should be approached professionally and with dignity. It has it's ups and downs just like any other career, so be sure as to why you want to have this career.

I hope this is something to think about and I wish you all the best moving forward with your aspirations of being a singer !
