Based on all interests, you can babysit, design objects (like a Dualshock 4 controller), Post music up on Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube, sign up for magazine shoots (if available), and take care of pets.

Babysitting is a fantastic job for a 12-year-old! When I was your age, I started by helping my mom's friends with their younger kids. I showed I was responsible by cleaning up after meals and putting away toys. By being helpful and engaged, parents began recommending me to others, and by high school, I had plenty of babysitting jobs! It's also good to know how to handle emergencies, so I took a babysitting class at the local fire station. Many community groups offer free or low-cost classes, too. You can also offer to spend time with the kids while a parent is home. This is like an interview and shows you can be responsible and get along with the kids, making parents more comfortable asking you to babysit when they’re not there.

I would say that if you are interested in babysitting, then definitely go for it. Let yourself be known by advertising yourself and reaching out to people that are looking for babysitters. There are also other jobs you can do if you are not able to find any babysitting jobs like dog walking, mowing lawns, pet sitting, running errands for neighbors and tutoring young children. Hope you are able to find something that works for you!

Hi Adalyn,

I got my first babysitting job at the church I was going to at the time. I watched over two kids while their parents went out on dates. When you get a babysitting job you can find out what music the child or children like and play that for them. Kids love art projects. You can research some art projects to do with the kid(s) as well.
