Hi, Paris !

I believe that you're asking what colleges should you APPLY TO if you want to Major in Education. You didn't mention which State you intend to teach in or your intended role in Education, what level or grade you intend to teach, so my advice will be very general and not include referrals. If you can be more specific, advisors can advise you according to your particular circumstances.

You will need to study and obtain your teaching credentials in the State that you intend to teach in. This is because the Education programs of a state prepare you for that state's credential exam. Most states require being Certified and a few require both Certification and Licensing (mostly if you want to legally teach in public schools in some states). So your inquiries about what colleges to apply to need to be more specific as it depends on some factors.

So, with an intention of majoring in Education, you will find the names of the major programs can vary. You can major in Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Physical Education, Adult & Continuing Education, Education Administration, Student Counseling, Elementary Teacher Education, Secondary Teacher Education, Creative Arts Education or Dance Education. So knowing what role you plan on having in this field is important in finding the right Major Program and which colleges offer that Program.

Since I recommend attending a college in the State you plan to teach in, there are many websites that can assist you with knowing which colleges in your chosen state have Education Programs. Find a listing of those institutions by typing in a search for "Colleges with Education Programs in 'whatever state'". Education is a common major to find at colleges, so you won't have a problem finding the colleges. Education remains a prominent major, particularly for those aiming to become teachers, principals, or specialists in areas like special education or early childhood education.

Once you find a list of colleges to apply to then you can go to each colleges' website and read what they offer for Education. You will need to make the decision as to which colleges to apply to. Read the courses that are involved in the Programs and see which path you like best. No one can do this for you. Watch videos on You Tube of the colleges if they have a You Tube Channel so you can get an initial idea of the college. This may help you make a decision. It's important to plan for a good college experience so doing this initial exploring is worth the time it takes to find the best college suited to your specific needs.

I just noticed that Special Education is in your tag, so I do want to mention that for special ed, courses in it are frequently single courses within an Education Major, so you'd most likely get courses in it. Sorry that I didn't see that sooner.

Remember that you can apply for Federal Student Financial Aid, Scholarships and Grants to cover college expenses. After choosing a college, look into financial aid and scholarships and plan to apply so you can lessen the financials for college.

I hope this helps to start your exploration and I wish you all the best !
