What careers are available to someone looking for a job in wetland conservation?
I plan to major in environmental science in college, but would like to find a career later in conservation. Wetlands have always been my passion.

Many environmental, civil engineering, and landscape architecture firms do wetland conservation and environmental mitigation projects.
2 examples:
(1)If I want to build a hiking & bike trail along a creek, I would need someone like you to help design the vegetation, habitat, slopes, and other natural features to offset the temporary construction impacts and permanent impacts from the trail.
(2) If I am unable to fulfill the environmental mitigation requirements for my construction and trail project impacts at the actual creek site, I would be required to design equal mitigation at a similar creek site nearby.
Let your college counselor and professors know about your specific passion for conservation and wetlands, and see if there are classes that can help.
Get an internship (summer, winter, year round part time) at an environmental, civil engineering, or landscape architecture firm. Larger companies like SWCA, Westervelt, AECOM, and Michael Maker International might have a location near you.
