What are some items that you wish you had brought to college your first year?
I've done research and made a good list, but are there any underrated items that you've found useful?

Hi Avan,
How exciting! You are moving out? Are you going to stay in res? They are going to send you a list of things that will be provided or will be available at your house and a list of things you must bring. That's of course the bare minimum.
If you have any comfort items that you must have, obviously you bring those (pillow, mattress topper, noise cancelling phones, white noise machine etc). Also any favorite personal care items. You will of course be able to buy shower gel and shampoo at school but maybe not the fancy one someone gifted you.
Depending on the climate at your school: a fan if you are in a hot climate and a space heater if you are in a cold climate.
Any decorations that will make your dorm room more homey. Any favorite snacks especially if home-made. Some family pictures, postcards from friends, that kind of stuff.
If there is space for a mini fridge, get a fridge for your room. A small drawer thing so you can keep your stuff organized.
I tend to bring a large powerbank and several chargers and cables for my electronics wherever I go.
Don't worry too much. You'll be able to buy things when you are there. You are not going to the arctic. Leave some space in your closet for the school shirt and cap which you will definitely acquire.
