Hi Kennedy,
Making a game on your own can be a daunting process. I recommend doing a little bit of research on what kind of game you want to make and if the technical aspects of making it are attainable.
The Unity game engine is free to use and download. There are many tutorials online that can help you get started!
If you are capable and willing to spend some money to learn, CG Master Academy has tons of classes on all aspects of game development. I got my start with them and it has only grown and improved since then. They have payment plans and are very upfront about the cost of each course.
Good luck!

Hello Kennedy,
The best way to start making a game is to make a very small one first. Most people get stuck because they think a game has to be big, polished, or technical. It doesn’t. A game need three things: a goal, a rule, and a choice.
Here’s a simple example using a cat drawing:
Game idea: “Cat & the Falling Fish”
* You control a cat that moves left and right to catch falling fish.
* Catch a fish → score goes up
* Hit a bad object (like a cucumber or water drop) → lose a life
* 3 lives → game over
Goal: beat your high score
That’s a real game — and it can be built using your own drawings. Start by drawing the cat, fish, and obstacles on paper. Once you can explain the game in one sentence, use a beginner tool like Scratch or GameMaker to make it playable.
Don’t try to build a big game first. Finish a tiny one.
That’s how game makers actually learn — by making small games and improving them one step at a time.
Wish you the best!
