As an LVN going into an RN program, what is the best part time job to have?
I've heard from a lot of people that maybe home health or registry would be the best option, but are there others out there? Currently I'm a junior and I have two years of nursing experience at a nursing home if that is helpful.

Hello Jocelyn,
That is a great question. Are you looking for part time, PRN, or Per Diem? There are apps like ShiftKey where you can pick up PRN shifts that are posted on there sites.
For being a part time employee, I agree that Home Health is a good choice since most organizations will help you build your own clientele and schedule yourself when you can see your patients.
If you are comfortable in teaching like doing tutoring on the side is another idea. For the tutoring doesn't have to be as a nursing course, but maybe if you like to help tutor those that need additional help in med math, human anatomy, microbiology, etc ( the pre reqs in nursing).
If interested in a hospital setting, there are part time (8 hours shifts) break nurse positions being posted online. Or you can just be part time nurse at a hospital and that is usually working 4 to 5 shifts of being 12 hours each.
There are clinics that need nurses to help give injections or have LVNs that are assistants to the RN case managers for home health.
Those were ideas I could think of off the top of my head. Best of luck to you in nursing school! You got this!:)
