How do I chose my college and major ?

How do I decide what college or university I want to go to and how do I chose what majors I want to chose

Hi Logan,

I personally recommend looking a different careers options first rather than college first. Ask the adults around you for recommendations or testimony. See if the there is some industry or activity that sounds interesting, Then look for job posting online ( Linkedin or Indeed for examples) for those job opening to see what general requirements they have, get at good sample with different companies if possible to see if there are similarities. Once you have at least a base line of what you may want to do. Look for colleges that offer that major. In college you will be exposed to alot of things, but career options isn't necessarily one of those unless you are very proactive.

The most important thing to remember is that you do not need to have all the answers right now. Do you know that most college graduates end up in a career completely different from their degree? Take some personality and interest tests to learn more about yourself. If you think you are interested in something see if you can intern or volunteer in the field you have interests in. Don't try to lock anything in right now. I promise that as you grow so many things will change. Look at this as a time to explore and get to know yourself better. You might not want to be in the classroom and find your interests are more hands-on. There might be opportunities in vocational schools that interest you. Union apprenticeships are a great way to break into a field that pays well. Have fun with it and good luck.
