What are some suggested digital calendar apps that are helpful for time management in college?
High school senior planning to major in nursing in fall 2026. Looking for a digital calendar or time management app to improve my organization skills now so that I am better prepared when in college. I use a handwritten calendar/planner now but am in search of a different way to stay on task and organized.

Start by creating a Google account if you don't have one. Then, use Google Calendar to organize your assignments, deadlines, and test dates. It works like a paper planner but is accessible on all your devices, such as your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Google Calendar is free and integrates smoothly with other helpful apps like Gmail for email, Google Keep for notes, and Google Docs for writing. Plus, you get Google Drive to store your files for free.
I've helped my grandkids set up Google Calendar and other Google apps before they started college, and it made managing their schedules much easier.

Kyla, as you’re thinking about moving from a handwritten planner to something digital before you start nursing in fall 2026, there are some awesome calendar and time-management apps that can really help you build strong organization habits now. Google Calendar is one of the most popular because it syncs across devices, lets you color-code classes and reminders, and integrates with other tools like email and to-do lists—perfect for planning your day and semester schedule. Todoist and TickTick are both highly recommended task managers that let you break down big assignments into manageable tasks with deadlines and reminders, helping you prioritize what matters most each week. Notion is another great option if you want something that combines calendars, notes, and customizable planners all in one place (so you can tailor it to how you personally study and organize). There’s also myHomework Student Planner or iStudiez Pro, which are designed specifically for students to track classes, exams, and assignments in a clear academic layout. Trying one or two of these now can make the transition to college planning a lot smoother and help you stay on top of your busy life as a nursing student.
