What experience is recommended before going into pre-vet?
I am about to go to university for animal science, and I was wondering if I need to already have an internship, or if I'll be fine starting once I'm at college.

Hi Colby,
It's great that you want to become a vet! You are going to need "vet experience" when you apply to veterinary school. More is always better.
Unless your animal science program specifically requires you to have animal experience to be admitted, you don't HAVE to have any, but it would look good on your application and probably increase your chances to be accepted into a competitive program.
Working with a vet would also give you a better idea what the work entails and if veterinary school is indeed the right path for you. So, if possible, I would recommend you start volunteering/interning/working at a vet clinic as early as possible.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!
