What different pathways did you take to end up in the career that you are in now? How did this path change from the initial path that you wanted for yourself?
My major is going to be biological science. I am in my last semester of getting my associates degree so I am excited for the change coming my way.

My advice is to try to take as many different types of classes, and pursue as many different experiences as you can. The more you explore the world, the better you can hone in on what resonates with you as an individual. I wanted to be a natural historian, looking at animals in their natural environment. All of my mentors said "great hobby, horrible career choice", so I ended up a pediatric intensive care physician. And that was after thinking I would be several other types of doctor. See what gets you excited!

This is a great question!
For me personally, I was in an early college program so I got my high school diploma and an associates degree at the same year. My last year of school was cut short due to COVID so that through a huge wrench in my plans. In my senior year of high school I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Between that and other life circumstances I took a sort of gap year where I just took other college classes to try to see what might interest me. This is how I ended up landing on my major. I took a few communications classes and found that I really liked it. After that I decided to go to an online university to pursue a degree in Communications with a focus in Professional Writing. I am about to graduate from my bachelor's program and am getting ready to enter my career.
I guess what to take from my answer is that it is okay if you don't have it all figured out. Picking a major/career is a huge life decision. I know it was something I struggled with until I got some experiences. I think I didn't imagine going to an online university but it is what ended up working out. Don't be afraid to try new things or take a road less traveled. It doesn't make you any less if you have to do something different than others around you.
