What is your advice for nursing students?

What is your advice for nursing students? I’ll be starting the nursing program in May. I am nervous and excited about it. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Ashley’s Answer

While I don’t teach nursing specifically, our healthcare programs are very similar in structure and intensity, so the advice I give my own students absolutely applies. There will be moments when it feels overwhelming, when the exams are hard, clinicals are exhausting, and you question whether you’re cut out for it. In those moments, don’t give up. Remember what brought you to healthcare in the first place and why you chose this path. The hard days do not mean you’re failing; they mean you’re growing. Stay consistent, ask for help when you need it, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You absolutely can do this, even on the days when it doesn’t feel that way.

Dawn’s Answer

Get yourself 3-4 other dedicated students and form a study group. Be disciplined in attending and contributing. My prof gave me great advice early on…use ALL your senses to learn!
Good Luck
