How do I get started with a career change following graduation from my university with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and having no prior experience?
I have only worked in customer service, but I am looking to further expand my education after I graduate while also advancing towards a profession within my major. I am currently pursuing my degree and will finish by next fall. Thank you very much in advance for anything you have to help! #Fall25

Whichever area of criminal justice you're interested in - start finding professionals who do that. Find the companies they work for and let them know who you are, what you're doing, and what you can offer them as an internship or apprenticeship.

Use everyone you know to find people in your new field - this includes your teachers. Ask for introductions to those people working in criminal justice, then get prepared for a 15 minute conversation - ask them questions about what they do, what has been helpful for them to know and study, and then ask them for more introductions. Each conversation should lead to another couple. You should start building up a great network and picture of what it's like actually working in the various areas of criminal justice, which will be a great tool when you graduate.
Find someone for that first conversation.
Prepare your questions.
Take great notes during the conversation, ask for another introduction, and don't forget to send a thank you note afterwards.
Repeat!
Use what you've learnt to shape your next steps.
