How would you suggest connecting with the younger generation going into an artistic marketing industry, and how can we connect these generational gaps in the marketing industry

I run my own business, and my market is those intrested in eco-frendly, handmade items, and I was wondering if anyone has seen a way to market more to the younger generation as ive seen that the older generations care more about unique and handmade items. If anyone is intrested more in what I do, my business is called Bee & Blossom Boutique! Thank you so much!

Hello, Nyiah !

Wow ! I love your website and more importantly I absolutely love your creations ! Every item is totally awesome ! Your prices are really cool, too !

Well, the real "generation gap" is best left for back in the 1960's and I am old enough to remember it. It doesn't seem to be a "thing" today, in my opinion, because we have come a very long way with intergenerational socialization. Frankly, our generation is still cool and adaptable. Plus, I see that your stylings and actual items would have a great appeal to younger folk. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on age so much because you have managed to produce things that I see older people wear and use. I also see younger people wear and use them, too.

Your website is perfect. What you may want to start doing if you are looking for younger people to see your products, you can attend and participate in conferences and trade Expos. The 8th World Candle Congress took place from May 5 to 8, 2025, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida, but you can search online to see where it will be held in 2026. The Home and Design Expo in Tampa is on August 1–2, 2026, and the Tampa Show on April 25–26, 2026, both at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The St. Petersburg Show is scheduled for February 21–22, 2026, at the St. Petersburg Coliseum.

Look into having a booth selling your items at the Port Saint Richey Annual Greek-American Festival and at St. George’s Winterfest Carnival. People of all age groups attend these events.

On Linked In, start following associations such as The Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, The American Jewelry Design Council, The Jewelers Board of Trade, the Jewelers Vigilance Committee, The Independent Jewelers Organization, The Women’s Jewelry Association, and the American Craft Council. These associations provide information and resources that you may find valuable for your business.

You are truly amazing ! Starting as young as you have has given you a huge lead way for your business. If you think of your products as having universal appeal, which I think they do, the age of your customers will not matter. If any high schools in your area hold fairs or bazaars, you may find younger people there. But I commend you for having what I see as items that transcend age. Many times, this issue is based on people's personal style, too, no matter how young or old.

I wish you all the best promoting and expanding your products ! You have done an enormous amount of professional management of your business starting at such a young age as 14. You are a great role model for young girls and peers, I commend you on your initiative and tenacity and also your creativity !

Hi Nyiah. Since Bee & Blossom Boutique focuses on eco-friendly and handmade items, you're already offering something that many young people love. They care a lot about the environment and enjoy buying from small businesses that create things with purpose. The key is to show them the story behind your products. Share why you choose eco-friendly materials, how you make your items, and what inspires you. Short videos, behind-the-scenes clips, and simple "making-of" posts can help younger buyers feel connected to your work.

When trying to close the generational gap in the marketing industry, it helps to see that different age groups value your products for different reasons. Older customers may love handmade items for their quality, while younger people are drawn to the creativity and sustainability. By talking about both the emotional side and the environmental benefits of your products, you can appeal to everyone. Another helpful idea is to collaborate with younger creators or local student artists. Working with influencers or small content creators can help more young people discover your business, while also showing that your brand welcomes fresh ideas and new styles.

Social media is one of the best tools for reaching the younger generation. Through social media platforms, you can join simple trends, share quick videos of your process, or give small eco-friendly tips. These small pieces of content help younger customers feel like they're part of your brand's world. Wishing you all the best.
