Hello, Dionísio Miguel !
A career in Digital Media and Online Content Creation does require a lot of resources and equipment and if you do not have any, your best bet would be to attend University, learn the craft and use their equipment.
The Angolan government, through the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media, has been actively distributing donated and free technology equipment to students and educational institutions. Although you didn't exactly say what you need, you can contact the Ministry and ask how you can apply for a smart phone, computer, microphone, headphones, digital camera, etc. You may be able to receive donated internet access through "Angola Online".
There is also the Conecta project, supported by AngoSat 2, which enhances connectivity in rural areas, and the "Ilumina Angola" project, which aims to provide nationwide communication and Internet coverage. Ask your school to help you contact these programs.
Several non-profit organizations also contribute to providing donated and free tech equipment for students in Angola. Explore Tech Africa's pilot program, the "ETA Laptop Drive". There are also programs such as Technology For Hope, and The Turing Trust. If you tell them exactly what it is that you need, they can perhaps provide it to you.
For Digital Media and Content Creation, it would be best to attend University to learn these skills. The Polytechnic Institute of Malanje may be the best place to start and explore. You can visit them in person and get a feel for the campus. They are focused on technological and scientific education, so they might offer some courses in content creation and things related to digital media.
I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !

Starting a career in digital media and online content creation doesn’t require expensive equipment or a big following—it requires consistency, curiosity, and practice. Many successful creators started with just a phone and an idea.
First, focus on learning the basics. You can create strong content using free or low-cost tools like Canva (design), CapCut or iMovie (video editing), and Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or a blog as your platform. Pay attention to storytelling, visuals, and how content is structured—those skills matter more than high-end gear.
Next, start creating regularly, even if it feels imperfect. Choose a topic you care about: sports, fashion, education, gaming, social issues, or something niche, and post consistently. Early content is about learning what works, not being perfect. Treat your page like a portfolio that shows your growth over time.
It’s also important to study what performs well. Follow creators you admire, notice what grabs your attention, and analyze why certain posts work. Learning basic analytics, like views, engagement, and audience feedback, will help you improve and stand out.
Finally, build connections. Engage with other creators, collaborate when possible, and share your work in communities related to your interests. Digital media is as much about relationships and learning from others as it is about content itself.
Starting small is not a disadvantage, it’s how most creators begin. What matters is showing initiative, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
Pick one platform and one free tool, and commit to posting consistently for 30 days
Create 5–10 pieces of content around a topic you care about and use feedback to refine your style

I recommend researching books on the topic from top names in the industry and then going to the library (free option). I have had success taking courses (and teaching) on Udemy where you can learn from gifted minds for under $20 per course.
Check book out of your local library.
Sign up to a Udemy course.

Hi Dionísio! What a great question. Start small and use what you already have. Pick one thing you like or know, like sports, music, gaming, school tips, or fashion, and create content about that. Use your phone and free tools. You do not need expensive equipment.
Focus on one platform to start. Good options are TikTok for short videos, YouTube Shorts if you like explaining things, or Instagram for photos and short videos.
Next step: This week, make one post or short video and share it -- could be a Facebook post. Then do it again next week. Consistency is key, and it’s okay if things feel awkward at first. The more you create, the more you’ll learn what works and what doesn’t, and you’ll start to feel more comfortable putting yourself out there.
I’m on a similar journey myself, sharing my passion for upcycling vintage pieces into art, and I’m still learning as I go. There are so many resources out there, and YouTube is a great place to explore ideas, learn new skills, and figure out what your niche could be. It’s okay not to have it all figured out yet. Learning and experimenting is part of the process.

I’m thrilled to know that you have a clear vision for your career. However, the next phase is to reflect deeply on how you hope to enter the digital media and online content creation space. Ask yourself, how do I want to achieve my goal? Is it in a formal, informal, or self-taught. Having the right answer to that question will help you understand yourself better and know the exact steps to take in order to achieve your goals. That being said, there are a lot of resources online you can access to help you level your knowledge and even with the limited resources you have, you can start with it and scale it up by applying for a grant. Consistency and resilience is paramount for success and staying opened and curious by asking the “how” and “why” of everything related to digital media and content creation would ground your understanding more in the field and you do that by asking the right questions especially to people whom you know are experienced in the field you wish to operate in. Keep learning and stay proactive always.

Entering the digital media and content creation field can feel overwhelming, but it's also exciting. As a content creator myself, I know it's important to find your niche and connect with the right audience. Focus on telling relatable stories that people can engage with. Use free or cheap resources online to start, and expand as you gain experience and income.
Every post counts, so don't dismiss small efforts. Instead of focusing on likes or views, ask your current audience what they want to see. This helps you create content that resonates with them. Authenticity is key; people appreciate real and unedited content. Share what feels genuine, even if it seems insignificant, and you'll be surprised by the response.
Remember, have fun with it. Don't treat digital media like a job; enjoy the process.

You don’t need expensive cameras, studios, or software to begin. A smartphone, free editing apps,
and consistency will take you far! You have streaming, social media, writing, design, or music start creating with what you already have. Use free platforms like YouTube,
TikTok, Instagram etc. Make a page and post consistently. Finally, focus on value and niche. Do or say something that stands out.
