Nathaniel’s Answer

Usually depends on each school and the financial aid office but in my personal experience it was 15 credit hours in order to live on campus and be considered full time.

Judy’s Answer

student carrying 12 or more credit hours in a fall or spring semester is considered a full-time student. Other definitions: Freshman: a student who has completed fewer than 30 credit hours. Sophomore: a student who has completed 30 or more credit hours.

Kim’s Answer

Mirella,

Considered, by who, to be full-time? I think for financial aid it was twelve. To keep your status as a dependent to your parents and keep your military dependent ID? unknown. To stay on your parents' car or medical insurance? Not sure it is a factor. Anyway, fulltime is going to be defined by the person or agency whose rules you are trying to comply with. Again, generally speaking, fulltime is 12 for undergraduate, and nine for graduate school.

Hope this has helped!

Kim
