If you want to become an orthodontist, you're on the dental school path. The best science classes in high school will help you prepare for pre-dental coursework. Focus on building a strong foundation in biology and chemistry.

If you haven't taken chemistry yet, or if you can take AP or honors chemistry, make it your priority. Chemistry is very important for pre-dental and dental school, especially general and organic chemistry. Doing well now will help you later. Biology is also key, especially advanced or AP biology, because you'll deal with human anatomy, growth, and development. If your school offers anatomy and physiology, that's a great bonus since orthodontics focuses on teeth, jaws, and facial structure.

Physics is helpful but not as crucial as biology and chemistry for orthodontics. Choose the most challenging biology or chemistry class you can manage and aim to do well. Dental schools value strong science grades over time, so showing consistency and effort is more important than just taking the hardest class. If you want, I can also guide you on what to focus on after high school to stay on track for orthodontics.
