There are so many options in the social work field, including working with families, schools, healthcare settings, nonprofits, or government agencies. You could look for an internship focused on child and family well-being or on supporting programs that help children and families stay safe and healthy, while pursuing your education. In my role, I focus on managing projects, and that work is connected to social services and community support indirectly rather than directly. It works for me because it is less emotionally taxing and a great way to contribute to social services and community support using my skill set.
