What can I do to be a professional baseball player, and what diets can I go on to stay healthy?

My name is Alexander and I’m a 7th grader of crane middle school and since I was a baby I’ve wanted to be a professional athlete because my dad is athletic and he played college baseball. I want to be like him and play college baseball and make it to Major League Baseball. I want to know how to stay healthy and increase bone health. Ive been playing baseball since I was 3 years old and I’m still playing right now. I feel like I have a lot of potential so this is why I’m asking. How can I be a professional baseball player and what diets can I go on to stay healthy.

To become a professional baseball player, focus on improving your skills every day and especially hitting, throwing, and fielding while also building overall athleticism through running, agility, and basic strength exercises. Stay consistent, listen to your coaches, and make sure you get enough rest so your body can recover and grow. For your health and bone strength, eat a balanced diet with protein (like chicken, eggs, and beans), calcium-rich foods (like milk and yogurt), healthy carbs (like rice and fruit for energy), and spend time in the sun for vitamin D. Avoid too much junk food, stay hydrated, and most importantly, stay disciplined and patient as you develop over time.

Hi Alexander! Even though my career is in consulting and not sports, the mindset behind reaching any big goal is the same, and in my case it took years of stacking degrees, certifications, and experiences to get where I am today, so trust me when I say consistency and patience are everything . For baseball specifically, keep training year round, work on your fundamentals daily, and once you get to high school make sure you're playing on competitive travel teams and showcasing at camps so college scouts can see you. Don't neglect your grades either because college baseball is your gateway to the pros and academic scholarships can help you get there, just like scholarships and fellowships helped me fund my education . As for diet and bone health, I'm not a dietician so I'd definitely recommend talking to a sports nutritionist who can create a plan tailored to your body and activity level, but generally speaking staying hydrated, eating balanced meals with plenty of protein and calcium rich foods, getting enough sleep, and not skipping stretching and mobility work are all things that will help you stay healthy and injury free. You clearly have the passion and the work ethic, so just keep showing up every day, fuel your body right, and the rest will follow. Your dad sounds like an awesome role model!
