How do I add a minor towards my Business Administrative major when I decide to transfer to my 4- year college?
I'm a soon to be graduating community college student and I plan to transfer to a four-year college soon. I wanted to know what steps I should take when adding a minor to my continuing business administrative degree. The career I want minor in is Photography, but I don't know what steps I should take to add that into my degree.
I also would like to know what having a minor would look like in the four-year college setting. Would it mean twice the course workload for classes? Will I be able to remove the minor from my degree if it becomes an interference for my major?

When you enter your 4-year college, you’ll be assigned an advisor. Tell that advisor you would like to add this minor and they will help you make a plan for all the classes you need to take in what order. You can also look ahead if you know what school you plan to attend and plan the classes out on your own as well if you want to get a head start. Most colleges will list their required course loads for each degree (major or minor).
You can always stop pursuing a minor with no penalty to you if you decide it’s too much to take on. My only precaution is that you will want to ensure if you may need to drop a class mid-semester that you understand the policies on how many drops you can have during your degree and when the early drop cutoff is to avoid using those drops that you can run out of.
Photography minors will involve studio classes which usually will be longer classes in person and more projects outside of class. I say that not to discourage you but to inform in case you didn't know so you can maybe plan an easier balance of classes each semester. If it ends up being too much though, you can always take a step back! :)
