Preparing for college while still in high school is a good use of time, especially when you know what you want to do in college.
Courses recommended are human sciences such as biology, anatomy and physiology, or the highest level of science your school offers. The same is for your mathematics and chemistry. If you qualify and if they are offered at your school take AP classes.
And finally, verify that any class you take in these last 2 years of high school are accepted at the colleges you wish to go to as prerequisites for their nursing program.
Good luck.

Hi Marlee…First of all, I encourage you to lean into your Guidance Counselor for advice on this topic. It’s been nearly 50 years since I was in Nursing School (🥹) so I’m not exactly up to date on all the current requirements. However, some things never change. If you apply for a baccalaureate program, you will need the usual college prerequisites such as English, History, Science and Math. Take as much Algebra as you can, as you will use it in calculating drug doses. Also focus on Psychosocial and Biologic Sciences. Be sure you develop excellent reading, writing, and study skills. And of course, computer skills are a must these days. (But you grew up with computers, right? ) As you begin to look at colleges, find out what specific courses they require for entry. Good luck!
