Thank you comment icon You may already have useful experience for your resume. Think about group projects, leadership roles, teamwork, extracurricular activities, certifications, and skills like coding, design, Excel, or Adobe. Even helping your parents at home, at work, or in a family business can show responsibility, creativity, and problem-solving. Write everything down first, then choose the strongest points and turn them into bullet points. Even small experiences can matter if written well. Be honest and do not include things you have not done. Use strong action verbs and add hobbies or interests if relevant. Josue,

As a student, I would see if there is anything that you have volunteered for at school that might show initiative, leadership or hard work. See if you can get a recommendation letter from a teacher in vocational or a club that you might be in or guidance councilor. If you can get a part time job or internship that would help. Look into barbering school or construction ads online to see if you can help. I believe that an OSHA in construction you might have to be 16 minimum to work onsite and 18 years old to run equipment. Don't be afraid to ask questions to teachers, guidance councilors or send a response to ads asking for laborers. Start in the office or as a gopher. It does not hurt to ask. You may get a response that might give you insight that your didn't know or were expecting.

Good Luck!
Respectfully,

Josue,

Ask yourself, if you were hiring someone for these positions, other than experience, what would you be looking for? And then, find ways to demonstrate you meet this expectation.

You could have a "skills" section of your resume. Under it, list several bullet points. An example:
* Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail, developed from a life-long hobby of model-building
* Safety-oriented. Learned and complied with safety rules in chemistry lab and on the basketball team.
* Experience learning and complying with regulations, as a licensed driver.
* Excellent team-work, from years of playing organized sports.

Notice what I'm doing here. I'm explaining how I developed the particular skill. If you just do what I have done, below, they might not understand the relevance:
*basketball team
*chemistry lab
*model-building
*licensed driver

The employer wants someone who can do the job, do it well, do it without getting into accidents or hurting others (because that costs them money $$$$), shows up to work, learns, and gets along with the rest of the workers. It's not just about having past experience. Your resume is your chance to sell yourself!

best of luck!
Kim
