I remember during covid the first rounds of vaccinations became available and there were centers set up for vaccinations. The volunteerism there was amazing! Thinking about that you would first think "I need to be a nurse in order to give the vaccines" and that would hold you back from volunteering at an even like that. Reality is, they need help directing people, setting up lines, monitoring people after they got vaccinated, cleaning up the facility, parking attendants, and also running errands (food etc) for the nurses who were working long hours. These kind of events need help and it really doesn't need to be a skilled help. Just standing out front of the facility and handing out a pamphlet about how to wear a mask in that scenario could really be a help. After that having "volunteered for vaccination efforts during covid" on your resume would shine.

This was an example that I could think of but you will need to figure out where an event like this or a medical clinic or facility might need unskilled help. I'm sure if you asked staff at a hospital what kind of volunteering opportunities exist there would be something.

Definitely, there are online volunteer opportunities for 17-year-olds in many organizations/platforms.
Some of them are,
The American Red Cross youth programs, Idealist, NY Cares, and Local health non-profits
These are teen-friendly (age 14=17) platforms worth searching for in public health/healthcare-related
online volunteer roles.
You can find a free list of virtual and free opportunities, as well as free training.
