What are the steps to take towards independent research and using that knowledge towards a non-profit?
I am a 10th grade high school interested in the field of both cardiology and neuroscience; in specific, I’m looking to study the connection on how neurological processes can affect the cardiovascular system—whether that be through complex cardiac conditions or even strokes.

Building a strong foundation in science and math is important. Dive into subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, and statistics, and take any advanced courses you can. Explore scientific topics such as strokes, neurocardiology, and brain-heart interactions to discover what excites you most and where you want to focus your career. Strengthening your research skills is key.
If you dream of starting a non-profit, spend time volunteering with healthcare professionals or community groups to gain hands-on experience. By combining your research knowledge with community work, you can make a significant impact. You're already on the right path by asking great questions!
