Should I transfer over all of my AP Credits?

I have taken a few AP tests and are going to take some more this AP season, however, I was told that some classes that I have received the test for I should take in college. Most specifically AP Biology. I received a 4 on this test, so I have an above average level of knowledge on the topic, but I have been told by some colleges that I should take the class when I get to college. Is this just a money grab? Should I not accept the credit? Would it be better for my medical career to take the class at my school? There is a possibility i could graduate undergrad early with all of the credit I've received.

Transfer the credits. Take as many AP, dual credit and CLEP test credits that you are allowed to, so you do not have to pay for those courses in college. If you need to retake biology, you can "audit" a biology course. Meaning, that you are not officially enrolled in the course and would receive no credit, but it would be a refresher of the knowledge.

Hi Zion I also took AP bio in high school and in spite of getting a passing grade on the AP exam my college advisor still suggested taking intro bio my first year in college as a bio major. I’m really glad I followed his advice! The class in college was harder and more detailed and definitely gave me a better foundation for success in the upper level bio classes. Remember the faculty teaching the classes and your advisor don’t get paid extra if there are more students sitting in the intro course - they just want you to succeed and they know what’s worked best for the students who came before you. Also it doesn’t hurt in your first year to have a class where some of the material is familiar - you’ll be adjusting to a heavier workload in college so you may be glad to see some concepts you’ve seen before.
Good luck!
