How can studying multiple languages influence creativity, especially in music, storytelling, and performance #Spring26?

graduating senior from Chicago State University, the only PBI in Illinois. Onward to Columbia in New York City for Graduate school, in American Studies!

Speaking and understanding different languages helps you to understand everything from another perspective. I can imagine learning a new language would be very beneficial and influential in music, storytelling and performance, and every other aspect of life.

Learning new languages is an amazing thing that open your mind, strenght your brain and make you see things from different perspectives.
First of all you need to find a way to practice them (watching movies with subtitles is very helping, movies/series you already know or very easy movies to watch). For sure the best you can do is studying abroad, I didn't know I could learn a language till I get out of my 'confort zone'.
Also very important is not to be ashemed of making mistakes because people may make fun of you...I've learnt by laughing and still have great memories of ridiculous mistakes I made in the past, but when you laugh of them, you will rememeber and not repeat them anymore!
